To find out if your New York City home address is zoned for IS 162 call 311 or visit schoolsearch.schools.nyc(Open external link) and type in your home address.

If you are zoned to attend IS 162, please contact Ms. Fio in the main office, 718-821-4860 to set up an appointment to register your child. 

The following documents are required at the time of registration:
1. Birth certificate
2. Proof of residency - signed lease or Con Ed bill
3. Last report card from the previous school
4. Proof of vaccinations
5. Registration forms

Students in temporary housing, as defined by the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, are not required to submit documentation (including address, proof of date of birth, and immunization records) in order to participate in any admission process or enroll in school.
